Borussia Dortmund are set for a return to club football activities over the weekend when they host Mainz 05 in the German Bundesliga.
BVB return to the Signal Iduna Park once again hoping to continue from where they left off before the international break.
After a great start to the season, Mainz have hit a small blip of form, and Saturday’s encounter could be an opportunity to get back to their best of the run.
Dortmund struggled to come up with goals in the absence of forwarding Erling Braut Haaland but the Norway international looks to be fully fit and is raring to go once again for the Black and Yellows.
Dortmund failed to beat Mainz at home during the 2020/21 Bundesliga season but the reverse fixture saw them record a 3-1 victory away from home.
Rose and Mainz head coach Bo Svensson have met just once in their managerial career with the latter beating the current Dortmund gaffer.
WHERE AND WHEN?
Venue: Signal Iduna Park.
Date: Saturday, October 16.
Time: 13:30 GMT.
Haaland is back in the fold after missing the last three games as he used the international break to get back to full shape, hence he is likely to be involved over the weekend.
However, Mateu Morey, Soumaila Coulibaly, Dan-Axel Zagadou, and Raphael Guerreiro are the remaining players in the treatment room while Marcel Schmelzer is unlikely to be risked.
Nico Schulz should be called into the starting line-up while Mahmoud Dahoud will return from suspension.
For Mainz, Dominik Kohr is suspended due to a red card shown to him while Adam Szalai and Jeremiah St. Juste are also ruled out due to injuries.
