In addition to Michael Zorc and Hans-Joachim Watzke’s claims that Jadon Sancho will stay this season, Sebastian Kehl, BVB’s Head of Licensed Players Department, said the same. Sancho has been the subject of interest from some of the biggest clubs around Europe for around 12 months, with Manchester United leading the race to sign him.
The English club reportedly agreed on personal terms with Sancho, however, have not have been able to agree on a fee with BVB. Dortmund’s stance on Sancho has been clear throughout the summer transfer window. They have stated multiple times that there will be no discount for Sancho irrespective of the coronavirus pandemic.
Dortmund are more than happy to keep Sancho as they know he would help the club fight for the Bundesliga title. Dortmund earlier said that if they can agree on a deal for Sancho before the 10th of August they would be willing to sell him. However as Manchester United failed to match Dortmund’s expectations, the transfer will probably not happen this season.
Sebastian Kehl recently confirmed the same. He said, “Jadon is happy to stay. He has a contract until 2023. I see him on the pitch and he is very happy. Everyone is very happy to have him. He is going to be here for at least one more season.“
