Mario Götze decided to part ways with Borussia Dortmund at the end of the 2019/20 season. However, his future club hasn’t been decided yet. The German has been the subject of interest from all over Europe, yet he has not signed with a club yet.
One thing is certain, Götze will stay in Europe next season, as he has rejected interest from Chinese clubs and MLS clubs. According to various French media outlets, Götze was in negotiations with AS Monaco. However, BILD has stated that he would prefer a move to the Italian and Spanish leagues rather than Ligue 1.
The 4 most commonly linked clubs to Götze are Sevilla in the La Liga, Fiorentina in the Serie A, AS Monaco in the Ligue 1, and West Ham United in the English Premier League.
The speculation over Götze’s future got even more interesting after his wife’s latest comments. Ann-Kathrin Götze in an Instagram Q&A with her fans was asked about her husband’s future, to which she replied, “Can’t tell you yet.”
Götze was reportedly offered a contract by David Beckham’s MLS team, Inter Miami, however, he turned the offer down.
The Daily Express, a British media outlet, has written that West Ham are planning a bold move for the free agent, Götze. Reports from over a month ago from Italy stated that Fiorentina are interested in a move for Götze. Yet, there has been no approach by the Serie A side.
It is tough to determine which club would suit Götze the most, but one thing is for sure, he will need game time to get back to his best.
