In an exclusive report by Sport Bild, they revealed that FC Köln made a last ditch attempt in the summer transfer window to land Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko on loan.
The move was proposed at the conclusion of the summer window, around when Niclas Füllkrug moved to Dortmund from Werder Bremen. However, the 18-year-old wasn’t interested in any hasty move and didn’t want to take any last minute decisions.
It is reported that both – Eintracht Frankfurt as well as Bremen also showed interest in bringing Moukoko on loan, but Köln are said to be the only side that made a concrete offer.
Now, there also have been reports suggesting that FC Köln will try to sign Moukoko on loan come again the winter transfer window, although Dortmund will need an incoming if he were to leave especially with Sebastien Haller probably travelling to AFCON with Ivory Coast come January.
It is significant to also understand that we have seen a massive drop in number of minutes Moukoko has been involved under Edin Terzic this season – and a loan move would be an appealing factor for Moukoko come January.
