Jadon Sancho and 5 other Borussia Dortmund stars have come under fire by the media for violating COVID-19 lockdown rules. The six players have shared images of them with new haircuts which they received after calling star coiffure Winnie Nana Karkari to their homes.
The six players are Jadon Sancho, Manuel Akanji, Raphael Guerreiro, Thorgan Hazard, Axel Witsel and Dan-Axel Zagadou.
The players took pictures with Karkari without face-masks on, which blatantly violates the measures issued by the Bundesliga. Ideally, the players should not have direct contact with members of the public unless absolutely necessary.
Borussia Dortmund’s Managing Director came defended the actions of Sancho and his teammates, as he said, “He should not have done it. We were all young once, 18, 19, 20. In this current special situation it is not only the coach and the coaching staff but the entire club that has to be careful with discipline.
“We have talked to all those involved and they assured us that all hygiene guidelines regarding visitors were adhered to. Only for the photo were the masks taken off. That is something that should not have happened of course.”
The six players should be reprimanded for their actions, as the seriousness of the virus should not be taken lightly. The Bundesliga aims to finish the season before the end of June, and in order for that to happen, players and members of support staff should be wary of their actions.
