Borussia Dortmund have eight more games left to secure a UEFA Champions League spot for the 2021/22 season if they are to use the league routine. One of these games includes the match with rivals Eintracht Frankfurt over the weekend at the Signal Park.
The Black and Yellows also have a crucial Champions League game against Manchester City coming up, hence Edin Terzic has a lot of decisions to make for these two games.
Here is how we think his team could line up against Frankfurt on Saturday;
GOALKEEPER – Marwin Hitz
Hitz seems to have displaced Roman Burki for a place as the first-choice goalkeeper in recent times. He has kept his composure and played well when given the opportunity.
DEFENDERS – Meunier, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro
Raphael Guerreiro’s recovery has come at a good time for Dortmund who are in an important part of their season. Thomas Meunier will also slot in a right-back.
Manuel Akanji should return to the starting lineup to face Frankfurt alongside Mats Hummels, who has been solid for BVB this term.
MIDFIELDERS – Dahoud, Bellingham, Delaney
Mahmoud Dahoud and Jude Bellingham have been very brilliant in these past weeks and Thomas Delaney’s upsurge also gives Edin Terzic a lot of options in the midfield area.
They should be able to command the action against the away side.
FORWARDS – Hazard, Haaland, Reus
His future may be the centre of attraction at the moment but Erling Braut Haaland will be in the lineup to face Frankfurt on Saturday. The player has 21 league goals this season and could be joined by Thorgan Hazard and Marco Reus in the attack.
