19-year-old Dutch winger, Immanuel Pherai, has been loaned out to PEC Zwolle for the 2020/21 season. Pherai was impressive during pre-season, scoring three times for BVB. His loan spell at the Eredivisie club, Zwolle, will help him develop further and take his career to the next level.
Dortmund recently confirmed that ahead of his move to Zwolle, his contract was extended up to 2022. Michael Zorc, BVB’s Sporting Director, said, “We wish Immanuel maximum sporting success with Zwolle and we will keep a close eye on his performances over the coming season.”
After the loan deal was confirmed, Pherai said, “I am very happy with the opportunity that PEC Zwolle gives me. By playing here on a rental basis I can develop even more. Playing matches at the highest level is now a top priority for me as a 19-year-old.” If Pherai does impress for Zwolle, Dortmund would be sure to take him back for the 2021/22 season and more.
Zwolle’s technical manager, Mike Willems, made the following comments on Pherai’s style of play. He said, “Immanuel has a right foot with an enormous drive that imposes his will on opponents with speed, depth and ball skills. We can use that type of player well. We, therefore, assume that Immanuel fits perfectly within our current selection.“
