Jude Bellingham, Borussia Dortmund’s latest signing, has just been called up for the England U21 side for the first team. The England U21 side will face Kosovo and Austria in next month’s Euro 2021 qualifiers.
Bellingham signed from Birmingham City in July for an initial fee of £25 Million. He is considered one of the brightest prospects in European football and deservedly earned his first England U21 call-up. In his 41 Championship appearances for Birmingham’s first team, Bellingham scored 4 times and assisted 3 goals from central midfield.
He recently picked up 2 prestigious awards for his performance in the Championship for Birmingham City. The 2 awards are the EA Sports Young Player of the Season and the LFE Apprentice of the Year award. On being awarded the above two awards, Bellingham reacted on his Instagram. He said, “Very happy and grateful to have been awarded with EFL ‘Young Player of the Season’ and LFE ‘Championship Apprentice of the Year.’ Again, I can’t thank everyone associated with Birmingham City Football Club enough for such an enjoyable season and making this possible.”
To top his recent achievements, the call-up to the England U21 side is the cherry on a cake. Bellingham will be joined by Rhian Brewster of Liverpool, Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, and Max Aarons of Norwich, who have all impressed for their respective teams.
Jude has been very impressive in the pre-season displays he has had for Borussia Dortmund.
